Bloggy thingies...

I want to do RSS feeds from my favorite blogs, but I have no idea how to do this. Surely someone here knows.

I did not call you Shirley, so don't even start with the jokes.

Also, as I mentioned, I cleaned out my blogroll of names of people I didn't even know and plan on putting new ones that I do read regularly. If you want yours listed, just drop a comment.

And to email me, it's brendabradshaw@gmail.com - I'm about to go into the template and see if I can find a way to put a link in there.

And life in general is aggravating me to epic porportions.

My friend Peter D. sent me here the other day to read about your truancy issues. I have to say that I got a little scared because I've never been in the habit to excuse my kiddos from school...until now! Wow. Texans are serious! Your experience made my laugh hysterically - of course I was laughing *with* you and not *at* you. Okay, I was laughing at the principal just a little bit.

Anyway, I only know how to RSS feed your favorite blogs from the Mozilla Firefox browser (which is a free download if you don't already have it). Regardless of the browser you use, perhaps this will help: go to your favorite blog, and then click on the RSS feed icon in the far right of the window where you've typed the web address. It should give you the option to "subscribe" to the blog.

Hi there, Blue! Welcome to Hell... err... my little blog.

Thanks, I'll try that. I knew SOMEONE out there would have suggestions!

How about some linky love?

I will link you as Casonova until you get your bassett hound.

I was going through Church Lady -- I mean, Chris's blogroll and she has a unique way of naming her blogging buddies. I stumbled on yours and thought, "Hey! There's Brenda!"

She calls me Ice Hotties. I'll take that as a compliment.

By the way, I don't like chocolate either.

I have taken to using netvibes as a feed reader recently. There's iGoogle, too, but I really like the design customizability of netvibes.

http://www.netvibes.com

For blogger sites, all you have to do is copy the blog's URL and paste it into the netvibes "add content" field. It then finds the various feeds and asks which you want to track. It's easy to see when people post new items. I've really come to like it. Let me know by email (peter at peterdudley.com) if you have any questions. I'm no expert in it, and I'm sure you can figure it out.

By the way, I'm the Peter D that BSP referred to above.

I read RSS at bloglines.com. You set up a little account there, and it collects all your feeds in one place. Basically. I read all my favorite blogs there.

Except yours. For some reason, bloglines knows when you have a new post, but it only displays the first couple sentences. Still, it saves me the trouble of checking every blog every day, since lots of the funniest bloggers are infrequent posters.
